Glass Melt

This was a quick test I did while learning Particle Flow Box 2. The setup is pretty basic.

I used the default birth grid and placed it within the frame, glued the particles together by distance with spring checked. I changed the max distance to 200% to allow it to stretch further and then activated the breakable by overstretch so that it would break the binds when they stretched too far (only for 2nd animation).

To create the collision I just created another Pflow system and shot a sphere into the glass material, I decided not to render the sphere for this test.

Finally I took a plane, added a shell modifier and then the particle skinner modifier to attach it to my Particle system.

Thanks

Ocean Render Tests

Here's a few Ocean render tests I did using 3ds Max and Dreamscape. These were quick to set up and I tried to get a few different looking results. The scene setup is just a simple skydome with texture for the backround and then the Dreamscape sea surface Mesh and material.

Calm Dawn:

For this Render I went for a fairly calm Morning. It's a pretty basic setup and not too much to write about.

Stormy Sea:

For this test I tried to get a more stormy look, So rougher seas, some environment fog and a cloudy background. I was experimenting with some sea foam as well which I though came out pretty nicely. To completely sell this effect though I would need to add quite a lot of elements, but for now I'm just testing out the ocean motion!

Explosion Tests

Here are a few Explosion tests I did. I needed to make them very quick and fade away just as quick so that they are on screen for a short period of time, so I turned the dissipation strength up for the smoke so that it would die very quickly.

I used particle flow to generate the explosion, just a quick burst lasting 1 or 2 frames and then some colour correction in After Effects.
